If you passed your driving test before January 1st 1997 you will already have category BE on your licence. Meaning you can drive a vehicle and trailer combination up to 8.25 tonnes.

Passed before January 1st 1997 = BE entitlement.

Passed your driving test after January 1997?

If you passed your driving test after January 1st 1997 you will just have the B entitlement on your licence. However you can still dirve a vehicle up to 3.5 tonnes and tow a trailer up to 750kg.
